How to Enable Chat Summary for Your Organization

Administrators can activate the chat summary feature for the organization via the admin panel. To do this, follow these steps:

  • Open the Admin Panel.

  • Navigate to Organization > Configurations.

  • Select the Zia module.

  • Turn on the toggle for Conversation Summary

How to Access the Chat Summary Option


Message Composer

  • Open any chat or channel.

  • In the message composer, click the Summarize Conversation icon.

  • A message card will appear with a summary of conversations from the past 30 days.

Browse Open Channels You're Interested In or Already Part Of

While searching for an open channel, you'll see the Summarize Conversation option—this lets you review recent discussions before joining, so you can get a clear understanding of the ongoing conversation.

Newly Joined Channels

When you're added to a channel, the Summarize Conversation option will be available to help you quickly catch up on past discussions.

Closed Threads

You can also use this feature to generate a summary for any closed thread.

Explore the Options Available in Chat Summaries


The chat summary feature offers a concise overview of conversations from the past 30 days. You can tailor the summary using the following filters:

  1. Filter by Sender

Choose whose messages to include in the summary:

  • All: Includes messages from everyone in the chat or channel.

  • You: Includes only your messages.

  • Selected Users: Filter messages by up to three specific users from the channel.


Note: You can select a maximum of 3 users.

  1. Filter by Time Period

Refine the summary by selecting a specific time range:

  • Last 3 days

  • Last 7 days

  • Last 30 days

  1. Copy Summary

Easily copy the generated summary and share it across other chats or channels as needed

Enhanced Polls Functionality

Auto Updates for Extensions

Whenever a new version of an extension is released in the Marketplace, Zoho Cliq will automatically update all your installed extensions. However, admins have the flexibility to turn off auto-updates for selected extensions if they prefer.
